Havemercy is definitely the easier read of the two, but I like A Land Fit for Heroes better (because, you know, tortured war hero). ALFfH is gory at times, though, so beware. I definitely skipped entire pages when reading through it. Maybe not The Steel Remains as much, but definitely the other two books in the trilogy. Anyway, whatever you choose, I hope you like them!

I haven't read Naomi Novik, but I should add her to my list!
