Fic: Deep in December
Jul. 5th, 2013 01:09 pmTitle: “Deep in December”
Fandom: Sherlock
Characters: Sherlock, Sally Donovan, Victor Trevor, Stanley Hopkins
Pairings: (background) John/Lestrade, Sherlock/Victor Trevor
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Fluff, flashbacks, angst, language, grief/mourning, moving on
Word Count: c. 6,900
Beta:
thesmallhobbit
Spoilers: None
Summary: Sometimes, the only thing that makes the winter bearable is the memory of spring.
Notes: Stanley Hopkins and Victor Trevor are both characters from ACD canon. Victor Trevor is a university-era friend of Holmes’, while Hopkins is an Inspector at the Yard. I have lifted some of VT's backstory directly from "The Adventure of the Gloria Scott."
This is a follow-up to “The Fall of Gods,” which is preceded by "Liaisons." Knowledge of those stories isn’t necessary, but would be helpful. This acts as a sort of interlude fic between “Gods” and its sequel, which will be going up in the coming weeks. Many thanks to Small Hobbit for her input. Feedback always welcome.
